Reverse Dream of the Menasphere
Reverse Dream of the Menasphere brings a magic researcher, his sister Mea, and the mysterious succubus Lirili together on a quest to prevent a monster invasion. Lirili wants the crystals behind the invasion destroyed, but her explanation is only the beginning of what the group discovers. The four-member party grows into the heart of the adventure, with conversations during their travels and events back in town. Illustrated adult scenes accompany a longer fantasy story, while battles and dungeon puzzles take up a substantial part of the journey.
The cast is often at its best when everyone is together. Party banter, inn conversations, and reactions to strange situations give the characters chances to bounce off one another. The detailed maps have small touches worth noticing too, including visual gags involving the monsters themselves. Attractive character artwork and a strong soundtrack help give the adventure personality, especially if you enjoy spending time with a recurring group rather than moving quickly between isolated scenes.
The relationship events tend to focus on individual characters, so the party's lively chemistry doesn't always carry into deeper relationship development. Many adult scenes unlock toward the end, use static artwork, and include incest themes. Repeated fights and lengthy puzzle sections also make reaching the later events a commitment. If you're drawn to a fantasy journey with an unusual companion, plenty of party conversation, and room to experiment with combat builds, the adventure has a lot to offer. Set aside several sessions and expect some backtracking along the way.
