My Bully Is My Lover
My Bully Is My Lover uses a title that sounds confrontational, then deliberately takes the story somewhere else. The protagonist carries memories of high-school bullying into adulthood, but he is no longer interested in living his life around revenge. That decision becomes much harder when circumstances place the people associated with his past directly back into his home and social circle. Instead of a simple bully-to-lover gimmick, the game builds an increasingly large ensemble romance around resentment, guilt, attraction, friendship, misunderstandings, and the uncomfortable process of learning that someone you hated as a teenager may no longer be the person you remember.
The cast is one of the project's strongest hooks. Emma, Sky, Klara, Naomi, Moon, Aine, Gwen, Freya and Lily all receive substantial attention across the changelog, and the developer generally develops them through named arcs rather than isolated scenes. Moon has first and second arcs, Gwen receives multiple stages of progression, Aine's storyline stretches across several releases, Freya gets a complete first arc, and Klara moves from introduction into her own major storyline. Later Chapter 2 updates begin wrapping up some of the longest-running threads, with Emma moving into her final arc and Sky entering hers.
That makes the game's structure particularly appealing if you prefer long-term character payoff. A heroine introduced in one episode may receive only a short event at first, then return several updates later with a larger storyline. Naomi, for example, develops from an introduction connected to the main story into a dedicated first arc and eventually a final arc. Moon similarly grows from an early introduction into a central character whose later storyline intersects with major main-story developments. The changelog repeatedly distinguishes between character arcs, harem progress and main story progress, suggesting that relationships are being developed alongside — rather than instead of — the overarching plot.
Chapter 2 represents a noticeable jump in scale. Episode 1 lists 1,073+ images, 41 animations, Klara's first arc, the beginning of Emma and Naomi's final arcs, a new phone system, and 82 new pieces of background music and sound effects. Episode 2 raises the image count to more than 1,515, advances Emma into her final arc, begins Sky's final arc, reworks the interface, and merges the character, gallery, and special-image sections into a cleaner menu. Dialogue accessibility options and additional translations were also added.
The phone system is especially relevant in a game built around a large cast. Chapter 2 Episode 1 separates its 8,611 lines of code into 6,131 lines of main content and another 2,480 devoted to phone content, suggesting that messages and secondary interactions have become a meaningful companion to the core scenes. It gives the relationships more room to breathe outside of major story sequences rather than limiting every interaction to formal route events.
Visually, My Bully Is My Lover is very much a modern 3DCG AVN. Later episodes routinely contain hundreds or more than a thousand new images, with substantial numbers of animations and large music/SFX packages accompanying them. Chapter 1 Episode 4 added 1,172+ images and 30 animations; the first episode of Chapter 2 added more than a thousand images and 41 animations; and the newest material continues that large-update approach. A gallery and special-image system lets you return to unlocked material without replaying entire stretches of story.
Despite its sizable harem and adult-romance component, the emotional framework is what differentiates it from a straightforward collection game. The official premise explicitly warns players that the protagonist is not pursuing revenge. Instead, the story continually asks what happens after resentment stops being useful. Characters who initially look easy to categorize receive dedicated arcs, while the protagonist's relationships with them change as their personal histories and motivations become clearer.
The result is best suited to players who want a long-form AVN where romantic payoff is tied to actually spending time with the cast. There is plenty of mature content, but the updates consistently devote just as much space to introductions, first and second arcs, finales, phone interactions, main-story developments, music, and character presentation. It is less about racing through every heroine and more about watching a shared household and social circle gradually transform as old conflicts are unpacked.
How to Play: Progress through the episodes in order, pay attention to relationship choices and character-specific requirements, follow the heroines you want to pursue, use the phone and character menus for additional interactions, and revisit unlocked content through the gallery.
