Behind The Curtain is a deeply narrative-focused adult visual novel that puts you in control of four distinct protagonists. The story explores the unraveling lives of Jack, struggling with a double life and a roving eye; Bex, a sheltered wife undergoing a sexual awakening; Ralph, who gets entangled with the mob; and Mags, a thrill-seeker with a troubled past. Every action you take influences their relationships and the overarching plot.
The game features stunning, realistic 3D renders with cinematic lighting and custom animations. A core pillar of the experience is the controversial "Ironman Mode," which restricts saves and rollbacks to make your choices permanent. Unlocking the game's gallery and achievements requires playing in this unforgiving mode, which some players find frustrating, but others praise for enhancing immersion. Note that the game includes themes of cheating and avoidable NTR.
As the title is still in development, content is continuously being added. While early builds contain some unskippable cinematic transitions that slow the pacing, the exceptional writing and character depth make it a highly compelling drama.
