Straight!? is a standout visual novel that completely avoids standard harem tropes in favor of a tightly focused, emotionally resonant gay romance. You play as Zack, navigating his freshman year of college, exploring his sexuality, and growing closer to his roommate, Braden. The game relies heavily on realistic dialogue, philosophical banter, and long-term character development with its strong supporting cast, building a genuine connection before diving into the sexual content.
While the game is heavily praised for its moving story and well-developed characters, it is very much a kinetic experience. If you are looking for branching paths, sandbox gameplay, or frequent choices that change the outcome, you won't find that here. Instead, it offers a single, powerful narrative about self-discovery and love. The title is currently a work-in-progress as the developer is actively creating a "Revamp" to improve the slightly tedious early sections of the original, completed storyline.
