As the highly capable, battle-scarred Agent No. 01, your mission is to defend humanity from monsters pouring out of interdimensional gates. The catch? Your cover identity is a student at an academy, meaning you'll have to juggle deadly spec-ops missions with navigating an expanding harem of cute girls.
Built using Honey Select for its 3D art, the game features attractive character models and some surprisingly dynamic camera angles during action scenes. The protagonist stands out for being genuinely caring and heroic, a nice shift from standard horn-dog protagonists, even if his visual design leans a bit on the softer, "eastern style" side.
Since R.E.D is still in its early stages of development, it does have some growing pains. The biggest hurdle is the English script, which suffers from heavy machine-translation issues like awkward phrasing and confusing pronouns. However, the underlying plot, the lovable heroines, and the developer's dedication to improving the game shine through, making it an incredibly fun "popcorn flick" of a game that just keeps getting better.
