Owning a hotel sounds exciting until the new proprietor sees the state of this one. It is falling apart, perched above a mysterious valley, and looked after by Asterion, the minotaur whose life has been shaped by a sentence from the gods. In Minotaur Hotel, restoring the building means getting to know the person who has kept it going.
The romance takes its time, and that patience suits Asterion. His history gives the quieter conversations weight, while the hotel’s guests stop the story from becoming too lonely. There is more to do beyond its walls, too: exploration teams can gather resources and uncover pieces of the valley’s past.
Its mix of Greek myth, gay romance, and furry art has a personality of its own. The story grows and splits as it goes, which will work better for readers who enjoy spending a long time with a cast than those after a quick, direct route. For the former, Asterion is a very good reason to stay.
