My Goddess
My Goddess gives its protagonist a brutal run of bad luck: his job and relationship fall apart, and he can't even get out of the city because of a transport strike. A drink at a hotel bar puts him in the company of Edith, an unhappy but successful entrepreneur. Their meeting sets up a new life full of romance, wealthy women, and complications he certainly didn't plan for.
Edith is the reason the premise clicks. Her connection with the protagonist gives the early story some warmth, and the cast around them brings plenty of personality, even when you don't like what a character does. The women look great in the 3D renders, and there's more content here than the version number might lead you to expect. Choices are scarce, so settle in for a story that mostly follows its own course.
I do wish the later chapters trusted that opening more. The number of love interests keeps growing, conversations can go on well past their point, and some developments feel at odds with what came before. The writing and animation quality also vary from scene to scene. Still, anyone looking for a long, fairly gentle adult romance with older women may find plenty to enjoy, particularly in Edith's part of the story.
