Ephemerale delivers an incredibly original premise that hooks you right from the start. You play as a lone survivor trapped in a cursed wasteland, fighting to stay alive while constantly meeting new and intriguing characters. The relationship dynamics are fantastic, letting you choose between forming genuine friendships or pursuing highly erotic romances with tough, battle-hardened warriors.
A lot of love clearly went into the character creation, featuring totally unique 2D sprites and plenty of variety among the NPCs you meet. The artwork really shines during the intimate cutscenes, offering a wonderfully lustful payoff after you survive the harsh desert environments. The creator even threw in a brilliant shadow-puppet storytelling sequence, effortlessly dropping cool lore without ever breaking your immersion.

You really have to watch your back against betrayal, but finding that perfect partner makes all the struggles totally worth it.
