Cosplayer Utane
Naoto has his eye on a doujin convention as an illustrator, and Utane hopes to attend as a cosplayer and vendor. Cosplayer Utane is Getting Stolen follows their preparations while letting players choose whether their connection turns romantic or Utane gets involved with someone else.
The game knows how to make Utane look good. Her outfits, illustrations, and animated scenes give each route its appeal, and choosing a route early keeps unwanted endings out of the way. The love ending has a nice payoff too, even if it offers much less adult content than the rival paths.
Everything happens fast. Raising Naoto’s art skill, earning money, and unlocking scenes make for a simple loop, while the story gives Utane little time to develop before its major turns. The rival routes are marketed as NTR, though Naoto and Utane are not an established couple through much of the game. It works best as a quick route-based scene game with attractive art rather than a long, painful betrayal story.
