Canticle invites you into the Lucent Priory, where handsome Brothers, dangerous secrets, and a murder mystery await its newest scribe. This gay fantasy visual novel lets you shape your character’s background, use different skills in conversation and investigations, and build trust with a cast of men who each have something going on beneath the surface. The romances are optional, but if you’re here for hot encounters, there’s more to discover than dusty old tomes.
The appeal is in getting close to the characters while piecing together what’s happening at the priory. Choices affect the information you can uncover and how people respond to you, though the dialogue-heavy pace may feel slow if you mainly want the sexy scenes. Some of the game’s art uses AI, with a memorable illustrated style and occasional inconsistencies in character and adult images. The story is still being developed, with mysteries and relationships left to unfold.
