Battle Fuck Waifus
BFW - Battle Fuck Waifus throws its hapless protagonist into a fantasy world full of crossover heroines and very unconventional battles. This lighthearted parody keeps the story simple: explore dungeons, outlast your opponents, and recruit your favorites with Waifu Rings. If you've wanted a collectible cast drawn from anime and games such as Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, that's the main attraction here.
The game puts considerable effort into its animated battle skills, giving each character a broad selection of scenes with voice audio. Leveling unlocks more skills, while your chosen partner supplies buffs and other support. The hot designs and large roster make discovering the next character tempting, even when the plot offers little beyond getting you to the next dungeon.
It's still an early game, and the mechanics need more variety to match the cast. Battles become repetitive, support skills can make some partners much more useful than others, and sprawling random maps stretch out the grind. Difficulty balance is uneven, too. The animation selection is already substantial, but enjoying the full game means having patience for the dungeon crawling between scenes.
