A Neet's Adventure follows Ren, an apartment-bound otaku whose comfortable routine ends the moment her father stops sending money. Her landlord wants paying, which means she needs a job. Unfortunately, wanting to stay home and actually being able to afford it are two very different things. Her search for income brings humiliating work, adult encounters, and a cast of oddballs drawn in a style with plenty of personality. Outfit options and stats influence her interactions, while the day system makes you decide how she spends her time.
The comedy is a good reason to try it. Ren's reluctance to do anything productive gives the situations a natural punchline, and the references add to the otaku humor. The available content is still limited, though, and the large map can make finding the next worthwhile event a chore. Some ideas also need more development before they feel connected to the rest of the game. Come for a small, rough adventure with a memorable heroine and an offbeat sense of humor. If you enjoy watching an unemployed shut-in discover just how expensive doing nothing can be, Ren has the right problem.
